Named and dated on this page, not hidden behind a vague “clinically studied” badge.
The testosterone figure is Pandit et al., Andrologia 2016 — 96 healthy men aged 45 to 55 randomised to 250 mg of purified shilajit twice daily or placebo for 90 days. Total testosterone rose 20.45% from baseline, free testosterone 19.14%, DHEAS 31.35%, each significant against placebo at day 90. One detail the headline hides in our favour: the placebo group did not hold steady over those ninety days. It drifted down.
The strength figure is Keller et al., Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition 2019 — 63 recreationally trained men, eight weeks, 500 mg a day against 250 mg and against placebo. Put through a fatigue protocol, the 500 mg group lost 9.1% of maximum voluntary force where the 250 mg group lost 15.7%. We will be exact about this one, because being exact is the entire point of this page: across all 63 men that gap is significant against the low-dose arm, and it clears placebo in the half of the cohort who started strongest. It is a dose-response finding. It is not a miracle, and we are not going to dress it up as one.
Both are peer-reviewed and both are human. Keller is open access, so you can read every page of it for nothing; Pandit sits behind a journal paywall, though the abstract carrying those figures is public. Search the author names and go and check us — we would rather you did.
Three things we will say plainly, because most brands will not. Those trials tested purified shilajit, not a finished MOUNTAIN MEN gummy — nobody has run a trial on our tub, and any company implying otherwise is telling you a story. Research on a compound is never a promise about your body; what it tells you is which ingredients are worth building a formula around and which ones are on labels for decoration.
And read the ages, because they matter and nobody prints them. Pandit ran on men of 45 to 55 and Lopresti on men of 40 to 70 — that is the man this was built for. Keller, Neltner and Wankhede ran on men in their twenties, most of them training. A strength or collagen number out of a 21-year-old is a real finding about the ingredient. It is not a forecast for a 48-year-old, and we would rather be the ones to tell you that.
